Coding and Certification

FOR COMMERCIAL LICENCING OF BRITISH FLAG VESSELS TO UK GOVERNMENT CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS (SCV CERTIFICATES) AND FOR SPANISH AUTHORISATION IN BALEARIC WATERS.

Coding for safety is a good idea where your vessel meets a stringent examination and becomes commercially safe for sea. If you wish to charter, your vessel needs to be coded.

In addition to supplying only authorised safety equipment (and minor alterations if required) on first survey, the vessel then needs an authorised stability test. Following this a further 'finished' survey is needed. The certification application forms are sent to UK authorities for processing and licencing by the surveyor and inspector. Only upon the return from the UK authorities of licence paperwork can the Spanish paperwork be processed and translated for authorisation to operate in Spanish waters.

It is a lengthy process which we undertake and we are quicker than most. This is because we supervise the whole operation from start to finish.
